Editing

I regard editing as an empathetic act that guides writers deep into their work, so they can realize their vision and release it to the world.

I work with a limited number of clients in creative nonfiction and memoir. Once our work is complete, the author goes on to find a publisher or agent.

I also engage in ESL editing with select texts and scholars. Here are a few examples:

Decolonizing the Gender and Land Rights Debate in India,” Catrien Notermans and Luna Swelsen, Religions 2022, 13, 254.

Education Pathways: Narratives of Female Academics and Administrators in Ugandan Universities, Draru Mary Cecilia. English-language edit. Doctoral dissertation for the Dept. of Anthropology and Development Studies, Radboud University, Nijmegen, the Netherlands.

Gender, Nation and Religion in European Pilgrimage, Willy Jansen and Catrien Notermans, eds. (Ashgate).

Ritual, Media and Conflict, Ronald L. Grimes, Ute Huesken, Udo Simons, and Eric Venbrux, eds. (Oxford Ritual Studies Series).

Negotiating Rites, Ute Huesken and Frank Neubert, eds. (Oxford Ritual Studies Series).
